Since I have so many followers on this old account (thank you!) I'll be sharing the message I posted on my active one,
here too!
Hey guys, I don't write journals often but with everything going on my whole biology team at my internship school has been doing their best to help the medical staff in our area out.
Currently we are donating all the protective gear we have (labcoats, gloves, safety glasses, desinfectant...) to medical institutions like GP's and hospitals through the red cross. If you have any power in a school and something like this is going on in your country maybe this is a nice thing to think about with the science team.
If you have a (gaming) pc with powerful PCU / GPU u can help searching for a cure for the corona virus. I feel like i'm giving a commercial lmao but folding at home is a 3d simulator that simulates possible folded proteins so they can get a better grasp of the binding sites of the corona virus which helps in the progress to look for a cure.
foldingathome.org/2020/03/15/c…There have been ''public'' simulators like these in the past. Little things like these give hope and enable you to actually really help the people working so hard for us from home.
Wash your hands, stay safe & think of others in these strange times. Lonelyness might spread like a virus too, a simple phone call or text message to the vulnerable people in your life might make a difference.
Try to keep to the health & safety instructions as best as you can, we can only do this together
